Our Story
More than a café —
a corner of calm
Born inside a plant studio, grown into a community. Here's how Our Little Cafe came to be.
How It Began
A plant shop, a dream,
and very good coffee
Shopleaf Plant Studio started as a small plant shop in a family garage back in 2018. Over the years it grew — from a weekend pastime into a full plant studio, from a garage into a proper QC destination where people came to browse, buy, and breathe in the greenery.
The café idea was a natural extension of everything Shopleaf already was: a warm, slow, alive kind of place. So in March 2025, Our Little Cafe opened inside the plant studio — a coffee bar nestled among the foliage, where the plants were not a decoration but the entire point.
It was a small operation with a big heart. Word spread the way good things do: quietly, through people who found the place, sat down, and didn't want to leave.
What We Believe
Built on three simple things
Made with Care
Every drink that leaves our counter is made with intention. We source quality beans, use honest ingredients, and treat each order like it's going to someone who deserves it — because it is.
Community First
Cafés are, at their best, about people. We want Our Little Cafe to be the kind of place where neighbors become regulars, strangers become friends, and everyone feels like they belong here.
Rooted in Nature
We believe there is something genuinely restorative about being surrounded by living things while you drink your coffee. That's why our home inside Shopleaf has never just been a location — it's part of who we are.
Our Values
The five things
that guide us
Slow Down Intentionally
In a city that rarely pauses, we build spaces designed for the unhurried. We don't rush your coffee. We don't rush your visit. This is your hour — use it well.
Be Kind, Always
It's on our house rules wall for a reason. Kindness is not a suggestion here — it's the air we breathe. To each other, to guests, to the plants.
Small, Done Well
We don't aim to be the biggest. We aim to be the most cared-for. Small menu, small space, maximum love — that formula has been true from day one.
Grow Without Losing Yourself
Opening Our Little Cafe, Too in Loyola Heights was a big step. But we carried the same spirit there: same care, same warmth, same coffee. Growth without compromise.
Show Up With Care
Behind everything we put out is a team showing up with care and intention, every single day. That's not a tagline. That's just what we do.
